: I am a 21 year old male who has been diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis. It is limited to the scalp and so far, after many types of prescription shampoos and topical solutions there has been no relief. My doctor says this is related to stress and probably will not go away. I certainly hope he is wrong. Does anyone have any remedies that might take away the itching, scaling etc. Any help is greatly appreciated.
You need to go out and by 3 different kinds of dandruff shampoos... Selsum Blue, T-Sal or T-Gel(by neutogena) or Head and Shoulders. Wash your hair every day using one shampoo for one week, then alternate. If you use the same shampoo all the time your scalp will become immune to it.
Seborrheic dematitis is dandruff, and unfortunatley when it comes to dermatology, if you cannot cut it out, then all you can do is treat the symptoms.
