hair loss and damage

Over the past year I have noticed alot of hair loss.I use get my hair professionally colored but decided to do it myself due to cost.I had a hystorectomy one year ago but still have my ovaries.My doctor said the hair loss should improve a few months after the surgery. I take a multivitamin, deep/reconstuct condition my hair and rarely put it in a pony tail. My hair is slow growing. After having it cut short over a year ago, it is only now about to my shoulders. Can you please offer a suggestion what to do for the loss and dryness of my hair. Thank You, Lisa
