: I am a 30 yr old woman who never had acne problems as a teen but do now, Does anyone know how to get rid of redness from a pimple to make it more non noticable? My Dr. gave me an erythromycin bases gel several months ago, but I am still getting the occasional breakout and rashy sort of breakout in my chin area. THANKS IN ADVANCE
I am your age and began having acne problems two years ago. I finally went to a dermatologist,
who gave me a prescription for Avita, and it has worked wonders. It's a cream (I think generically it's
2.5% tretinoin) that I have to put on my chin every night, but as long as I do that I do not get any
acne at all. The stuff is not that cheap, but for me it was worth it. (A tube of Avita cost me $40,
but it lasted over a year. The generic is sometimes covered by insurance.) If your acne bothers
you I would go to a doctor about it. There is usually something that can be done. You might also
try an oral antibiotic.
