be careful! i became a vegetarian when i was about your age and lost a good 30-40% of my total hair. it's been about 8 yrs since i started eating meat again (specifically because of the intense hairloss) and i've still not been able to get my hair back to normal.
every single day i wish i hadn't become a vegetarian - wasn't worth losing my hair over.

: : How can I get my hair to be thicker? I have recently become a vegan and I think this may have made it even thinner than it was before. I am taking a Biotin supplement, as well as other vitamins, and I watch my protein. You need 60 grams a day, correct? If it is relevent, I am an 18-year-old female, and I occasionally dye my hair. Other than that, I don't really do anything to hurt it. Please help.

: Your inner health is directly reflected first in your fingernails, then in your hair. the reason for this is that hair and nails are made of keratin protein which is fed by protein intake and the proper vitamins and minerals. Take a good daily multi-vitamin in addition to the B Complex. Beans are a good source of protein for vegetarians. Eat a healthy serving at least 3 times weekly! Nothing will make your hair thicker, one can only replace what has become 'lost'.
