Susan ..I am a nurse butTHIS IS NOT MEDICAL ADVICE..sorry for shouting but I must limit my legal liability. Now Temazepam (brand name Restoril) whereever I've worked is doublelocked up in the narcotic cabinet. That means its addictive! I strongly recommend you find natural alternatives but of course follow your doctor's orders in the use of Restoril or any medicine. If you are having anxiety problems have you tried going to a therapist especially a cognitive behavioral therapist? There is an excellent book called the Anxiety and Phobia Workbook by Edmund Bourne Phd (1994) that is low on jargon and high on practical ways to lower your anxiety..you can buy it on-line at barnesandnoble.com( a friend of mine swears they're cheaper than Amazon) or buy it at your local bookstore for about $25 US. Darryl My doctor prescribed them to me for my insomnia/anxiety until my blood test results come back. i just took it for first time an hour ago, and I am feeling a bit relaxed but definately not tired enough to go fall asleep! This is the highest dose possible that he gave me too, 30 mg. Anyone have any experience with temazepam, if so...did it work for you? Does it take several days to really start working? I am at my wits end trying to get some sleep!
