I'm not sure if this will help you but I've experienced feeling depressed after napping in the afternoon (on weekends). For a while I wouldn't let myself nap at all because I didn't want that feeling afterward. I'm not sure what causes it or if it's the same thing you're going through (it sounds like napping makes you feel irritable). I would say, try to stay awake until you're ready to go to bed at night.
