: I have been using a C-PAP machine for my sleep apnea for approximately one year. Recently, if I use the machine with a humidifier I come down with bronchitis symptoms immediately. If I use the machine without the humidifier I get a bloody nose. I also have been experiencing back pain just below my shoulder blade. My regular doctor sent me to a pulminary specialist, but unfortunately I wasn't able to get an appointment until late October. In the meantime, I'm not using the machine and as a result, have found myself almost falling asleep at inappropriate times during the day. (I was tested at the beginning for narcolepsy and this was ruled out by my sleep disorder specialist).
: Does anyone know what I can do? Are there any side effects to the prolonged use of a C-PAP machine?
