It's possible you only need 5-6 hours sleep a night. That's my norm (12or 1am-6am)when I stay asleep all night, that is. Are you still tired when you wake up? Do you feel sluggish during the day? If not, you might be trying for the 'recommended' 8 hours and you don't need it. I heard on a radio report that people who sleep 5-6 hours a night live longer than those who sleep 8+ a night. Haven't verified that yet, but if I sleep 8, I feel terrible the next day. If you feel ok with 5-6 hours, try going to bed later and you might start waking at a more human hour.
: How would anyone be able to tell you why, unless they knew you? We are complete strangers here, we can't diagnose you from reading your few sentences. Not trying to be crude, but explain youself a little better here. How long has this been going on with you, have you had any stress in your life lately, etc? If you continue to be sleep deprived, go to your medical doctor and get checked out. If nothing is medically wrong with you, then your Dr. might be able to prescribe you something to help you sleep better. Or it could be you need to talk to a therapist about something that might be bothering you??
