I've been talking in my sleep practically since I started talking at all. I talk very clearly and loudly. When it was just a matter of waking up college roommates with nonsense gibberish that was bad enough. Now I greatly distrub my finacee and threaten our relationship with sex talk and actions that sometimes include saying the name of an old boyfriend. This behavior is very disturbing to me as well because I have no clue as to why I would mention this other man's name. He means absotuely nothing to me, I never even think about him in my waking hours, and I love my fiancee wholeheartedly. It would be devastating to me to lose him. I've searched every corner of the internet and called every mental and medical therapist I can find--nothing. No treatment whatsoever. The little info I've found is that it's a medical problem, a sleep disorder, not a psychiatric one. Sleep clinics treat it as no problem at all, really, advising the other person, the one disturbed by the sleep talker, to make sure the talker is comfortable and safe and ignore them. I stand to lose the most important mate I've ever loved over this. Please help.
