: HI, : I'm new to this board. I am a div. 48 yr old female.I was diagnosed with mild centeral aleep apnea about 2 years ago.I have had sleeping problems for years!! I had a CPAP for about 8 months and really saw no difference in how I felt or slept. I have fibromyalgia. I share many of your sleeping problems. I go to bed about 10 maybe if I am lucky I sleep for about 1-1 1/2 hours then I'm awake for a period of time maybe fall back to sleep by 2 or 3 and awaken between 5-6 . So I am getting about 4 hours a night. I feel pretty tired. Some days I have absolutely no energy. I am retired and on Scoail security disablity. MY stress level is low to mild. It use to be very HIGH. I thought when my life calmed down I would start sleeping better... wrong!! I have tried Ambien, it does work but I know it has to only be used very short term. My Dr. has given it a couple times but he isn't the one that diagnosed my sleep apnea. ( i just started going to this DR this year, my last visit he was going to call my neurologist and get a copy of my sleep study.Last month he told me he cannot keep giving me Ambien. I am a nurse and I understand this. I have tried Alluna but it has not done a great deal for me!! I do take trazadone ( generic for deseryl) at bedtime. : Anybody have any "new ideas" I am open to them!!!! : Thanks!! Thankful to have found this site!! : :-) Joyce : HAppy Holidays!! I found my sleep study today and I have Obstructive Sleep apnea not Centeral. I'm not sure why I thought that!!!
