I have an 18month old son who wakes up screaming with blood on his face and bed. He has bitten his tongue so hard the tip has a big chunk out of it. It has been happening for 2 months now and we need some help. He has had a 24hour eeg which was normal and the doctors have no idea why he is doing this. I have searched the internet for hours and hours to find something with the same symptoms and i found nothing. He can't be the only one out there. Some nights he wakes up every half hour with blood, and sometimes he just wakes up crying with no blood. It starts as soon as 10 minutes after he falls asleep. It even happens in the daytime when he naps. I am afraid if this continues it will start to affect his eating or even his speech. When he is awake he is a happy and very playful little boy. Any help would be appreciated.
