I am producing a documentary that will shed some much needed light on the mysterious condition of sleepwalking and night terrors. Although the condition is commonly seen in a comical light often its consequences can be serious and can cause a great deal of distress. The progranme will aim to give the viewer a personal and medical understanding - why does it happen? why do people sometimes act violently in their sleep? how can it be prevented? We aim to involve pioneering research being carried out in Switzerland that is clarifying what happens to the brain whilst in this state. I feel this documentary would be illuminating - not only to the general public - but also the medical community.
