I am 54 years old and have been rocking for as long as I can remember. It has somewhat subsided in the last 10 years. As a tot, I would rock on the couch and then on all fours in bed. When I rock now, it is so slow that it is pretty much unnoticeable. But, I do contract my thigh muscles or my butt muscles at any time. It is much easier for me to "rock" these muscles than not to. My arms and my head are not affected. Also, I can't remember when I stopped bed rocking on all fours. My mother says that my cousin used to rock as well.
