: Dear KK,

: Thank you for your supportive post. It certainly is a hard road. During our now 2 and 1/2 month period of quitting, we've slipped up twice. Both times, a "friend" gave us some for free, and my husband, against my objections, took it. It lasted for three days, both times. One little hit each night. After that, I wanted so badly to go back to it forever, but we've not, thank God.

: Counseling is out of the question for us. He'd never go. I do go to a psychiatrist every 4 months for a med check, and I've lied to him for years. He refuses to treat me with antidepressants if I continue to smoke. Yes, life is a little more boring, but I want to know who we truly are, without pot in our lives. So, yes, we're doing it on our own, and I never realized it would take a year for complete recovery. No wonder I still crave it all of the time! One day at a time, for us. It's harder for my husband, I think. He gets very moody without it, and blames me, and distances himself. I often have hurt feelings about this, but I know we're doing the right thing.

: Thanks again!

: Victoria

I haven't been to the board in a while, but I hope you and your husband are doing well. It's HARD, but don't ever forget that it's only the drugs making you behave this way (mood swings, etc) and the end WILL come. And life WILL get fun again. You just have to wait it out. Best of luck to you both.
