Ambien loco

Well, my 10 mg prscription just kicjed in so pardon my sloppy keystrokes. The medicine seems to give me a cozy, ooozing feeling of wellness with slight veritigo just as it takes hold. Then I feel slightly tired and lay down under the covers to read a book. After a few minutes of reading, I'm out cold and get a full refreshing nights sleep. However, I have problems rememering what I read or things I did just before going to sleep (ie. I won't remember writing this until something tomorrow reminds me I was surfing on the web for awhile last night). So how safe is this stuff? Is it really addictive? Is this "slight-just-before-bed-amnesia" going to get worse? So far I get blessed sleep at last, and for once am highly motivated the next day. I hope I can continue taking it.
