: Ok, I confess, I am 100% addicted to Ambien. I read all this stuff about doctors only prescribing it for short periods ~ I've been on it for almost 2 years. I finally talked my doctor into prescribing 20 mg/night. I try to talk myself out of taking it almost every day but by the time night comes I find myself craving the feeling it gives me. I have tried other drugs to help me sleep but they all give me that next day hangover. I was even pulled aside at the pharmacy last week and the pharmacist told me about the tolerence I am obvisiously building up. I have a feeling that the only way I will get off this stuff is if I check myself into a hospital but I lead a very busy life and have no time to take a "vacation" Does anyone have any advice for me? Anyone know of any drugs that may have the same affect as Ambien without the addiction? Your help is appreciated!
Valerian root extract or anuy over the counter sleep aid (Simply Sleep is one I believe)is a fair alternative to Ambien (I said fair-no guarantees). It has an awful smell (you can read about it on the web). I put 20 or 30 drops in a n ounce of OJ and swallow it quickly. Try it
