: Last night was simply the worst night of my entire ordeal with insomnia. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I turn out the lights at about 11:00pm, only to be awake until about 2:30am, then I managed to sleep for about 1 hour, then I stayed awake until 4:45am, then falling back asleep until 6am. So that leaves me with only 2 1/4 hours of sleep. What is the deal with that??? I no longer work and have very little to worry about during the summer. I don't know what to do being that I will be returning to work when summer vacation is over. I tried Alluna Herbal supplement, but unfortunately it didn't work. The directions indicated that I might not feel the effects on the first night. Maybe my insomnia is so bad that there is no hope for me. I can't stand it... it is so frustrating and literally debilitating the next day. Like I mentioned its summer and I don't have the fear of work performance yet. How do I overcome this sleep disorder? It seems that nothing is fast enough except for sleeping pills and even that won't cure my problem. My insomnia is chronic and I can't function it seems. Please someone if you experience what I'm experiencing let me know. AT this point I am not taking anything... I decided to throw my last 4 pills of Ambien down the toilet because they weren't working anymore. Let me know how you all cope and what you have done, what worked and what didn't. I am desperate!!!! I am going through the book called "Say Goodnight to Insomnia" Hope I can manage to help myself by using this drug free self help program. Thanks!
It sounds like you may have the same type of problems that my dad has. He is 62 and overweight and has diabetes and couldn't get to sleep if his life depended on it. Finally I convinced him to go to a sleep clinic and they said that he has sleep apnea. I would like to suggest that you go to a clinic too, it has been very helpful for my dad. We found it threw our local hospital-good luck
