Could Xanax be causing me NOT to sleep?

I was prescribed Xanax a couple of weeks ago, because of anxiety/sleeping problems. At first, I was able to sleep somewhat by taking 2 before bed. Now the past few nights, seems all I do is toss and turn all night...no real sleep. Only time I really can sleep is in the morning, and that's a no-can-do because I have two young kids! I have a doc appt. next week, so I can find out if I am really experiencing anxiety attacks or what, so for now guess I will stick with the Xanax. Otherwise I get NO sleep. Anyone else taken Xanax, and if so...how was your sleep affected by it?
