Sounds like you may possibly be very stressed (?) and could be suffering from anxiety attacks as well? That is the case with me. Several weeks ago, I started having horrible insomnia and anxiety attacks. Went to dr. and had blood work done recently (still waiting on that), but he thinks it anxiety/panic attacks caused from stress. I will more then likely be referred to a therapist and try more meds. I've heard Klonopin is a good one. Anyway, if your insomnia continues...you may want to go to your medical doctor first to get tests done, or maybe to a therapist to see if something is stressing you out or bothering you. Also, watch your caffeine intake, it can affect sleep as you know. Good luck to you, I hope you can get some rest soon!
