The feeling of being alone fighting a sleep disorder is very tough. But there are many people with sleep apnea out there and many who are willing to help you. This board is one example of the caring sleep community. There is also live Internet chat and local support groups availiable.
My favorite chat site is www.talkaboutsleep.com It has helped many to get over the loneliness hurdle and to get back to a productive life. The key is to get treatment and to comply with the remedy. This is where support really helps.
Best of luck
: I am at the end of my rope. Another wasted day due to this damn sleep disorder. It is even starting to affect my relationships. I can't make plans anymore because I end up cancelling them due to the fact I got maybe 3 or 4 hours sleep the night before. A girlfriend of mine is pissed off because I never want to go out anymore because I am tired all the time, and always have to break off my plans. I toss and turn almost everynight now, and when I finally get to sleep I have violent nightmares. I wake up terrified, as well. I feel like I am loosing it. I don't know anyone else with this problem. Glad I found this board, at least I know I am not alone.
