zyban is lesser dose of a well known anti depressant, Wellbutrin. I took zyban about 2 years ago to quit, and got violent headaches. I do know one person presently taking zyban with great success, so ymmv.
i switched from the patch to the gum...I'm starting week 4 smoke free on Sun. I must say that the gum is much more effective, as far as getting a nicotine buzz. I have had no moodiness since starting the gum. tastes AWFUL, but the nicotine release is controlled by the chewer, and should an extra kick of nic be required, just pop another piece or suck the life outta the one you have.
