: I quit 5 weeks ago. Has anyone experienced any shortness of breath during withdrawal. It seems to be better now. Just wondering if this is normal. I quit about seven weeks ago and, within the last ten days, have noticed I am periodically out of breath. I'm not sure whether this is a symtpom of chemical withdrawal or just the lungs going through the process of healing. I also notice a bit of pain behind my ribs, which makes me think that the latter is a greater possiblity. I can find nothing in the medical literature regarding this possible "side effect" of smoking cessation. If anyone has seen information on this topic, I would appreciate knowing where to find it.
