Yes,it's true that MOST people gain weight,but it's only average 5-10 pounds,some gain more,some gain less. Your metabolism has something to do with it,but if you keep away from the sweets after smoking (and i know its hard, from experiance!) and go for walks or some light workout afterwards,you should be alright. My doctor told me that you would have to gain over 100 pounds to have the health risks as smoking does to you. So smoking is definently worse than gaining a few pounds. My doctor also told me that getting on the patch,or Zyban and the like,helps keep weight loss down also. Just a suggestion,and good luck with quitting! You'll do fine =)
