I feel that the tobacco industry has found a way to get around the ban on advertising, by promoting smoking in made for TV movies and TV series. When you view a made for TV movie you will see a number of characters smoking, without having anything to do with the story line. In a recent series, Gideons Crossing, a series about a cancer treatment center no less, four doctors were seen smoking while having a discussion.
In another episode a doctor and a patient were smoking, and you could even tell what brand they were smoking. I am currently fighting lung cancer, and I really object to the tobacco industry being allowed to get away with this blatant loophole. Is there any way we can stop them?
