: Hi Jackie,
: Good job at your 10 days! (its probably more now,I would think). Im starting Day Ten as we speak. You are right,it is getting easier and easier as the time goes by,and the second day was the worst. I have post it notes all over my house reminding me why Im quitting and that helps. One of my favorite sayings to keep me quit is : "If you think beating cigarettes is hard, try beating lung cancer" It really hits the heart and whenever I have a strong craving I read that over and over till it passes. Just some more info =) Take Care and good luck!

: : : Hey Everyone. Im on DAY TWO of quitting smoking.Cold turkey. I just woke up yesterday morning and said that I am sick of smoking and the bad things it brings. Its starting to get difficult, cuz honestly I REALLY ENJOY SMOKING. But I know its best for me if I quit. My husband smokes also but he's being nice and smoking outside and out of my site. He's being really supportive, and basically all the support I have for this, cuz my family doesnt even know I smoke! So its getting really tough, hope I can make it another 2 days. Does anyone know how long this craving for nicotine lasts??? a week? two weeks? Thanks for listening to me and good luck to all the others out there quitting! :-)

: : Hi Lisa.
: : It will be 10 days for me in 5 more hours. My 2nd day has been my worst. I smoked for 34 years, 3 paks a day. I just did this cold turkey. It has been easier now that I'm thru that horrible 2nd day. My boyfriend quit after 50 years. That was 6 1/2 months ago. He says he still has urges but not like in the beginning. So hang in there.
: : It will get better.

Hi Jackie
Hope you are still off the smokes. I am on week 8 and I tell you I feel worse now than I did in the beginning. I, also like you stopped cold turkey after a 50 a day habit. Bought myself some Zyban yesterday to help ease the craving that has just really started. Have been reading the horror stories about Zyban so am now considering returning them to the chemist.
Good luck to everyone who is trying to kick the habit.
