It'll be 2 years in April since I have quit smoking. I've always had problems with being constipated, (I thought) until I quit smoking. Now it's worse. I'm not sure what I've done to help. Some foods seem to help, but after awhile of eating them, it doesn't help anymore. Some of the foods are grapes (as you mentioned) canned spinach, and garlic. When I first quit, I called a doctor that specializes in the digestive area and her assitant recommended Phillips Milk of Magnesia. That helps ALOT but I'm not sure that's the answer - since it's a laxative. Plus, I taste any kind of "mint" taste now and I almost gag. Anyways, good luck and congratulations on the no smoking. Keep it up. What an accomplishment. If you discover any good info on the constipation, send info back. Thanks.

: Seven days off cigarettes - happy as can be about it & doing quite well I think - except that I'm carrying around four days of food in my usually easy going tummy. I run 6.5 miles every day, drinks lots of water, eat plenty of fruits, salad & veggies daily. I take the usual assortment of vitimins daily and 2 FiberCon which helped evrything along just fine when I smoked but are doing little for me now. Any advice? I can offer one tip to those who suffer with me, eat grapes - well chewed and lots of them - you'll get some relief.
