:I had the surgery in 1998 and had the same experience with the bone. The bone started to grow very slowly and really wasn't visable until my 6 month check up. I am now in good shape and the fusion has taken.
I had my first post-op follow yesterday after a
: L2-3 fusion with titanium cages and a bone graft. It's only been 4 a little over four weeks since my surgery, but my surgeon has expressed a concern about a possible incomplete fusion. The actual fusion hasn't started yet, nor does was tehre any visible signs of it starting on my x-rays. He said due to the late start, it is very possible the fusion may only fuse on the bottom and the sides, leaving the top open. If this sohlud happen, I will have to have a "touch-up" surgery as well as another bone graft. I don't go back for 2 months and am left to worry about it until then. If anyone has had a similar experience please write and tell me about it. You can either post it on the board or e-mail me at Love2Flip@aol.com
: Thank you~Sara
