I had a disslocation fracture at C6/7 over five years ago and wore a halo brace. MRI and Xrays show the top and bottom out of line at the break site and my spinal cord almost touching the step. I experience variable pain and shocks usually radiating in from my hands and feet (which always tingle) and which progresses to resemble the pain that goes with bad diahorea. I need large amounts of codiene and occasionally need pethadine. Frequency is around 13 days but I have twice been around two months without it being bad. Vibration seems to agravate it but only sometimes otherwise nothing physical has any effect.
I believe that I should not be experiencing these problems so long after the injury and wonder if they might be associated with irritation of my spinal cord by the step. Has anyone else any experience of missaligned spine repair or of similar symptoms?
