: :I would like to talk with anyone with Syringomylia.. I am 36yo Paramedic/firefighter my Syrinx is at the level of T6 to T11.. Duke U.V has a Dr. Frieman that knows alot about this...
good luck...Mark..

: try http://neruo-www3.mgh.harvard,edu/forum/ an go down to syringomuelia for help,,many more folks go here,,

: Just found out I have a syrnix (a fluid filled cyst) in my spinal cord that is 3 cm long and 2.5 wide, and is destroying my spinal cord from the inside --> out.

: : I am very scared ... I am a 34 year old divorced mom of 2 young girls ... all the options I've read about are very scarey -- shunts or lamenectomy ... I've got other spine troubles --> three protruding disks in my L-spine, and 2 protruding disks in my C-spine ... I had a car accident 4 years ago -- my doctor then kept telling me it was soft tissue damage and nerves and did trigger point injections and physical therapy -- never did an MRI -- now the case is "closed", this could be considered pre-existing by my insurance company -- and I don't know what to do ... my hands and arms are weak and my hips and legs hurt, my toes go numb ... it's crazy

: : Has anyone out there been through dealing with a Syrnix .. is mine considered 'large' ... or small ...what can I expect to have happen to me now.

: : I have my appt. with a neurosurgeon on Friday -- what should I ask ... what can I do

: : AUGH -- I'm so sad ... someone please help ...
