I am 61 years old and have had problems relating to cervical stenosis for some years now. 6 months ago an MRI showed that spurs on 3 disks are infringing on the spinal column. The Neurosurgeon is waiting for me to give him a date for surgery which would involve removing the spurs, bone grafts and fusion with him reserving the option to install plates if necessary. I am scared and haven't decided on a date yet. I was advised that I could expect future discomfort as the cervical spine would be more or less rigid and body movement would be only way to reposition head. Have any of you kind folks had to deal with this? I am leaning toward surgery in late July. Anyone suggest not?
