Foot and calf pain following spinal fusion

Exactly one month ago, I had a spinal fusion performed at The Hospital for Joint Diseases at NYU. I woke
up from the procedure with my left foot very numb( it was not numb before the operation). Now my left foot
is very sensitive to touch, and I'm not sure if this is normal. I hope that it will get better, but it seems to be
getting worse. Any suggestions from anyone out there who may have had a similar experience? I am
not coping with this very well. Tried neurotin...no help. My foot is also staing to swell a little and it is
redder than the other foot.
