Susan!!!! Please talk to your Doc about the prednisone!!! This is Dangerous stuff. You have enough to worry about without the side-effects of that stuff. Best of luck and God Bless. : I had a double fusion on 8/5/99 at the L4-5 and L5-S1 levels using bak cages. I have had no relief and my pain has actually gotten worse than it was prior to surgery. I have had a follow-up MRI, Myelogram and Ct scan as well as flex xrays. My surgeon saw motion on the flex xrays and a little fusion on the ct scan. He has put me on another 12 10mg dose of prednisone. I am in constant pain from my right buttock, hip leg and ankle and foot. I can barely lift my right leg and have sever pain evrytime I cough or sneeze. Has anyone had similiar results from a fusion? Is it time I seek the advice of a second opinion? I cannot accept that this is the quality of life that I have left! I am a 41 year old female with teenagers to raise! Any info or advice would be most greatly appreciated!
