: I was recently DX with cervical spondylosis. My symptoms are pain in the neck (occas), with pain and tingling in right arm and hand always, and sometimes in the left. The right arm and hand become so painful at night it wakes me up. The discs are herniated at c5-6 and c6-7. I am a healthy 42 y/o woman with 3 children. No known cause.. I have tried 2 cervial epidurals and for 2 or 3 days the pain increases(which I was told is normal)and then the same amt. of pain and tingling and numbness remains (if not more). I am allowed 1 more injection in March, in hopes that it will help, but thus far to no avail! Is there any exercise that can help?? And I'm reading that nuerosurgeons seems to be the choice of Dr. instead of orthopedics..No one understands the pain and dicomfort that I am in,,and I'm sooo tired of feeling this way..it has been constant for at least 6 months. Dr. perscribed lortab and viiox. I don't feel that it is taking the pain away only dulling my senses..Does any one have some good advice for me?? I've become a real pain in the neck!!
I have had similar symptoms. I have found some relief with acupuncture. I don't know how long this will continue to help, but I want to defer surgery as long as I can. I am also doing massage therapy and use ice packs to decrease the inflammation.
