This past February I had a lumbar fusion using titanium BAK cages. They are very similar to Ray cages, only I do believe BAK's have caused fusions to fail and heck of a lot more than Ray cages have. So kudos to you and your doc for getting you the best of the two. I myself had a failed fusion with the BAK's and had a redo fusion 3 months later. It's only been two months since then and the jury is still out on that one. I actually have a follow-up later on today. Keep your fingers crossed for me please!
I've really not heard of that many reactions to the titanium used, so that's a good thing. From what I've heard from other people, it is more likely that you will have a reaction/infection to the pedicle and/or unilateral screws but in for fusions. I hope you're doing ok and that your journey of surgeries has come to an end. Take care and always keep smiling.
