: My 6 month old daughter has a tethered spinal cord. Are there any parents out there whose child had the same diagnosis? What was done? Surgery? Thanks in advance for your help. Adelle
My daughter has had 2 surgeries for a tethered cord. The 1st at 10 months old. (in 1991 the doctors kept misdiagnosing it.)Everything went fine. Sue is giving great advixe on taking action now. At the first of 2000 she had to have another surgery, this time around she has lost bladder control. I have to straight-cath her every 4 hours. It is better than losing the ablity to walk. We are facing more surgeries in the future. Please let me know how your daughter is doing. Sometimes I feel like we are the only people with this problem - It seems so rare, but as I'm going through this message board, I know that I'm not alone.
