In Aug 98 I had a vehicle accident that paralyzed me from T12 on. Ever since I have endured the burning from neurological damage. At first I burned and had hyper sensativity around my waiste..then I regained feeling and control to my hips. Currently I have pain all in my hip area down. If you've ever had the burning, you know what a "pain" it can be. Totally distracting at times.
My doc has had me on neuronton for almost 18 months. It does control the pain somewhat, but it is still there.
My pain mangt. doc has placed local alcohol treatments which seemed to help control the pain. Expecially inbetween med doses.
Does anyone out there have any other suggestions for controling this burning???
I've had some people say that is a blessing, that it means nerves are regenerating. That would be awesome..but at the same time.. painful and frustrating.
Please let me know of any suggestions.
