Hi Nancy,
I was just recently diagnosed with a synovial cyst in my spinal canal between the L4 and L5 and S1. It's pressing on the nerves. I had severe pain for about 2 months going from my lower back all the way down through my foot. Extremely bad sciatica including numbness and electric shock. The surgeon and neurologist say I need surgery. However, the pain now is hardly anything compared to what it was. Do you know if the pain will definitely come back and therefore I will opt for surgery? Or should I wait it out and hope the pain never returns and therefore not go for surgery. Please let me know what you think from experience. Thank you. Barbara
