My daughter had surgery for TCS in May and all the information I managed to learn was gained from the following Web site. There is also two great e-mail support groups, one for parents of TCS children and one for adults with TCS. I hope these are as beneficial to you as they have been for me.

Go to www.mindspring.com/~borchert/welcome.htm.

Best Wishes for everything

: I would like to hear from anyone who has had tethered spinal cord surgery. I had surgery 3/00. Before surgery, I had tremendous pain daily. It was difficult to stand from a sitting position, impossible to sleep on my stomach and I was not able to walk for any length of time. Since the surgery, I have really good days, but then again, I have really bad days with pain very similar to what I had before. I am encouraged by the good days and am hoping that as time goes on, those days will become more frequent. I am curious if anyone else who has had this surgery has had a similar experience and what the outcome has been. I am 48 years old and hoping I can be very active again without the pain. Also, is there exercises I should be doing. My doctor never specified anything in particular. He just suggested I get moving which I have been trying to do. Again, I look forward to hearing from anyone on this subject.
