Hopefully you are feeling better since it's been six months since your injury. In November of 1999 I fractured my L4 transverse process. No treatment or physical therapy was advised. It took 6 weeks before the pain diminished, then I gave myself an extra two weeks before I resumed all normal activities. My treatment was just R&R. I suggest that if you are not better yet, get another opinion. When doctors's say that there is nothing they can do they should at least tell you what you can do for yourself, and what you can reasonably expect in the future. Regarding the not healing part and the fact that you may never heal, my fracture healed with what I understood to be soft tissue, not solid bone. Maybe that's what the doctor's meant. Make sure you get all your questions answered by a doctor that you are comfortable with. There are many good ones out there. Find one. Good luck.
