: Hi All
: I had anterior/posterior fusion of spine L2-S1 with instrumentation & cages about 7 years ago. I've been fairly pain free since. Last May 9th I woke up in incredible pain below where I had my surgery. I had an arthritis panel done which showed normal, I tried PT which didn't help, I tried cortisone shots in the S-I joints thinking that might be the problem, but they didn't help, the last doctor I went to just said it was mechanical pain & it would just go away as suddenly as it came. Its been 6 months and I'm still waiting. I've tried a regiment of drugs which provide little to no relief. Has anyone else experienced pain in this area or does anyone have a clue as to what it might be?
Lisa,I also had Anterior/Posterior surgery and have instrumentation. Could it be broken instrumentation? I had a second surgery due to a broken screw. It took 7 months. The red flags were there. I was in excrutiating pain and then they finally realized that I really did have a broken screw? Check into it! Have you had any tests done? Keep us posted. Good Luck!
