: Does anyone know what the difference is between a bulging disk and a herniated disk? I was told by the Dr my leg pain when I have been sitting down for a long time or driving for a long time than I get shooting pain. I also suffer at night in bed with alot of pain that wakes me up. My left leg feels like I have a severe burning feeling in my thigh and have recenly starting having pain in the joint nr my hip.
: I have L4-L5 bulges and a spinal stenosis
: Can anyone give me feedback on this who has either been through this or is going through this Iam getting ready to get a Epideral steriod injection and Iam very scared of this procedure. Thanks for your help
Don't be to worried about the epidoral steriod injections. Back in 1994 I had a series of 60 shots of the injections in my back. They helped me for a little while, but the problem persisted. I had a ruptured disc at L-4/5 and they did a microdiscectomy. If you are early in your problem, your doctor is going to try everything he/she can to help you before he/she may decide with you to operate. The surgery I had in March of this year only helped me for three weeks. I am now looking at another operation to fuse my L-4/5 disc. Anyway, do not worry about the injections. They feel sort of like a regular shot. You will need someone to drive you home, as they put some medication in the shot to help you relax. Good luck, if you have any questions, e-mail me. I am out of work and have been so for 9 months. Take care.
