I just read your posting regarding your syrinx (SM). My daugher is 11 now and last March she started having horrible right leg pain. It got so painful that we had to take her to the family doctor. To make a long (very long) story short, she ended up seeing doctors in the top ped. hospitals around. We live on the East Coast so we ended up in Philly and Delaware. After 2 MRIs, we found this syrinx at T1-T10. I didn't know what that meant, but we are learning every day. She is on the medication of Neurontin along with Tylenol and Advil. She was on crutches for 4 months due to the fact that no doctor could help us because they didn't see anything wrong. This has been a nightmare for all of us here in the house only because no answers were given. Only recently with the help of the internet, we have found a surgeon that says...YES...I think there is a problem. If you have any input to this I would appreciate it. Thank you for listening.
