I have an 18 year old male I am caring for who had his tethered spinal cord operated on twice. Although his doctors tell him the neurological function of his bowels etc. are nearly normal (through extensive tests), he continues to have periodic bowel problems and accidents. Any suggestions to help this problem? We are currently trying the kegal exercises (contracting and releasing the spincter) to increase strength and control.
