: HI< I CAN RELATE to the pain that you are having, I too have this condition, I quit my job, I have been to a back surgeon to be toild i am too young for surgery...I am 37 yrs. old. 2 children ages 14 and 15. The surgeon told me until I cannot walk or urinating or soiling my pants...surgery wasn't an option. I went back to my family Dr., he perscribes Darvocett...which I have found to work the best...If you break them in half, they don't make me so Quezy. I am so sick of living on meds and being in pain everyday!!!!!
Tami, I would get a 2nd opinion right away -- it may be too late by the time you loose bodily function. I'm only 38 and am seriously considering a spinal fusion for my spondylolthesis under the advise of my doctor, who is considered the best ortho. back surgeon in Denver.
Lynne, I just miscarried my 1st child and so getting pregnant again was a definite concern for me as well. I talked this over extensively with my doctor. He is very confident that I will be able to carry a child with little back problems once I have the spinal fusion -- I was already experiencing severe pain when I miscarried at 9 weeks. He also said that I could get pregnant again now, but would be really limited, if not bed-ridden, by the 3rd trimester. Hope this helps.
