: I went through 4 years of every medication, PT, pain management. I had ACDF surgery and was feeling 'normal' afterwards. I recently found out that I have another HNP and my doc's want to try the conservative approach again...?? If work has the painreturning........STOP. You'll only make matters worse...I had numbness in both hands and wrists....though it was carpal tunnel....ignored it.....paid for it....ACDF has been a lifesaver in the past and hopefully in the future...regards
Hi Melissa,
I seems you have had success with your ACDF. I too, have had the operation and I had c-4,5,6 done. But to my misfortune, I have more problems just 20 months later. I have herniation c-3, and c-7. Funny how these occured above and below the existing fusion. I am in terrible pain and like I said in another post, I am a young guy and in the construction field. I am also a drummer and can no longer play. I don't have any relief in site and was wondering if you or anyone else out there may have a solution. My doc wants to operate but I feel it will make things worse and to have my entire neck fused, well, is a crappy feeling, BUT, I know this pain is not dealable. Besides, my job wants to put me out to pasture and I don't know if I can deal with never playing again. I wish there was an answer to all of this madness....regards,
Jimmy
