Posted by Mark Jeeves on December 13, 2000 at 09:10:45:A few days following a normal childbith my partner suffered ever increasing pain in the top and side of her Right leg, she descibed the pain as a shooting pain which runs into Spasm at its most severe, she is now frightened to leave her bed in case she brings on the pain. She is desparate to continue breast feeding but we are now having to use the bottle when pain is severe as she can not hold the baby. The emotional trauma of the not being able to look after her New born baby is very distressing for her.
We have a national health service here in uk who to be frank have not been very supportive and simply linked the pain to stress as she was suffering from mystitis at same time. Gradually people are now taken here more seriously as her her mental health is sufering. The doctor today whilst not sure as to cause is going to give her a steroid injection for the Buser titus? nerve
I took her privately on Monday to a Chiroprator who seems to think it is a pinched/compressed nerve at base of spine although following manipulation she has been in even more pain. I should mention that thrombosis has been ruled our and also during her pregancy her right leg/hip would occasionally give way. Also during delivery when on her Back the nurse pushed here legs wide apart as they wer shaking during the second stage.ANY Ideas ???
