I am concerned about potential complications involving a microdiscectomy of L-5/S-1. The operation is essential according to prognosis by a neurosurgeon after clinical examination and CT scans. I am assured that the procedure is very conservative, but am still curious about the amount of potential blood loss. Please tell me, is there a typical likelihood of the need for a blood transfusion?
