: : HI IM LOCKING TO TALK TO SOMEONE WHO HAS GONE THREW THIS. I HAVE PROBLEMS IN MY LOWER BACK TOO AND I JUST HAD AN INJECTION IN THE LUMBAR REGION,SEEMS TO BE HELPING "CROSES FINGERS" MY PAIN. NOW IM CONSIDERING HAVING THIS DONE FOR MY NECK .I KNOW ITS A REMPERARY CURE BUT I HAVE ACUTE PAIN ATACKES THAT ARE RULEING MY LIFE. CAN ANYONE SHED SOME LITE ON THIS PROCEDURE FOR THE NECK? HEY THANKS AND HOPE YOU ALL ARE DOING GOOD. RICHIE
Hey Richie, I had a series of epidural injections in my neck in Feb 99. I had an accident and ruptured the C5-C6 disk with severe cord compression and nerve root damage. The injections were performed in the hope of relieving some of the pressure on the spinal cord. However, my problem was so severe that I had to undergo surgery to repair. The injection procedure I underwent was preformed as an out-patient, I was taken into a day-surgery room and preped, only local anestesia applied to back of neck. The Dr. had me sitting upright with my neck bent forward and inserted the needle into the back of my neck. I had no real pain from the injection itself, but an intense feeling of pressure at the disc. I did not benefit from the injections because of the severity of my injury, but I talked with several patients that did. Good luck to you. Michael
