: Hello - I have been diagnosed with an arachnoid cyst on the left frontal lobe of my brain. I have been experiencing 20-30 minutes episodes of complete confusion --- not recognizing anything I have been working on, not remembering what I was doing, or the recent past. Does anyone else have any experience with this type of cyst?
: : : Hello all, my friend too has been diagnosed with an arachnoid-menengeal cyst. the cyst is between T3 and T7 with cord compression. The surgeon wants to leave the cyst in and watch for change in size. Currently the cyst envelopes her spinal cord. She is experiencing Numbness and tingling in the legs which makes it almost difficult to walk. The surgeon Claims that the cyst could reoccur after removeal. A second attempt at treatment would be the use of a SHUNT.
: : : Other neurological Changes will occur if this is not dealt with soon. Can you give advice as to what you may have found out in your personal endeavor as to removal before more neurological changes occur. Also would like to know of success/failure of any procedures done up until now. She would rather have the cysts removed or shunted sooner than later.
: : Hi;
: : I recently had a cyst removed in the same area. T-4 thru T-7. I was having pain in the lower back and in my legs. I also am having spasms in my right side of my chest and stomach.
: : This has cause me to be seem in the emergency room several time because it cause my heart to go in to Sinus Ventricle tachycardic. I don't know it you are having this to but I can under stand how you feel not knowing it this will cure you. My pain started in April 1998 after something popped in my back between the scapula and spine. I had 5 MRI and was told there was nothing wrong with me. In July 1999, I was seen at UNC-CH by Dr Toselli who is the a Neurosurgeon,After reviewing my MRI, he found the cyst. The cyst was removed so far I do not have the pain going into the lower back and leg but I'm am still having pain in the scapula area. If you do have surgery, find a doctor who has removed several because it your spinal cord and dont be a ginnie pig for just any one. I hope things turn out well for you. The pain from the spasms has almost ended my career as a pilot. GOOD LUCK!!!
Dear back pain sufferers:
My wife had a laminectomy for an arachnoid cyst from T3toT8 and continues to suffer from pain 3 1/2 years later. What are you doing for pain control and is it working? Have you had bulging disks as a result of surgery (my wife does now)? Any info would be beneficial as this is such a rare condition. Thanks...Bob
