: About 5 years ago I was carrying something heavy while walking up stairs and got a "burner" down the left side of my neck from the base of my skull down through my shoulder. Ever since then I have had a constant pain in that entire area making it difficult to do certain things, especially sleep and lift weights in a certain manner above my head. I have continued to function reugularly otherwise, remaining very athletic and active. Last week while playing football I received another "burner" in the same location. This time it was from my head compressing against my shoulder when I landed on the ground. An athletic trainer told me that I might want to get checked to see if I have a cervical stenosis. What is this? How could it be treated? Could my pain be something else? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. -- Mike
